DIFFERENT METHODS FOR DIFFERENT PURPOSES

All boats require frequent washing to remove air pollution, bird, and insect stains. But washing alone is not enough. Gelcoat exposed to the air, suffers from a process called oxidation. A well maintained boat requires minimal annual gelcoat maintenance, typically consisting of a polish and wax, and possibly a mid season touch-up. Whereas poorly maintained gelcoat may require wetsanding and/or aggressive compounding to remove the years of oxidation.

At Sheen Marine, we know how to make gelcoat shine.

First, we inspect the boat to perform some tests on compounds and polishes. Surprisingly, different boats respond differently to the same marine maintenance products. We carry a wide variety of products so that we can determine what will work best with your boat. We will even apply various different processes, so that you can choose the methods that best suit your expectations and budget.

FIBREGLASS & GELCOAT REPAIR

We all love the smell of a new boat, and the shine of new gelcoat.

We can repair any damage due to "docking incidents", manufacturing voids, dodger snap holes, previous owner "improvements", and bring your gelcoat back to life.

As gelcoat ages it tends to fade, when performing repairs, we custom colour match to make the repair as invisible as possible.
